Project-Based Learning

My high school experience was less than traditional. High Tech High based their teaching on projects over the traditional textbook. Here are a few of my high school projects that I am proud of:

Senior Year

I enjoyed the last project of my High Tech high career. I was apart of a team to make a stop motion animation video. Our video was a mannequin flying on a broom to a painful ending.  We learned about the human body and its ranges of motion while also learning about video editing.

Junior Year

The Urban Re-Farm project was my favorite project at High Tech High. It incorporated a lot engineering with CAD. My group successfully made a rainwater collection system. You can feel free to check out (or buy) the catalog.

Sophomore Year

During my second semester in Humanities, we based our learning around Bonapartism and democratic revolutions. First, we learned about the French Revolution and it's four stages: the Old Regime, the Revolution, the Terror, and Napoleon's Rise to Power. After, we learned about the recent Egyptian Revolution of 2011 and compared  the two to see if history can repeat itself.

Freshman Year

I enjoyed the radio drama project I was assigned freshman year. Throughout my first semester, we engaged in podcasts and wrote various fictional stories in preparation for the first big project of our high school careers.
